Hey BUCKS COUNTY!

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Having grown up and started The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants in Bucks County right down the road from Andrea’s parent’s home… this wedding being published is really a treat for me.

Paired with the fact that Andrea found us because she was a guest at a wedding we did nearly five years ago… and still tracked us down!

And because the wedding featured a several Bucks county wedding professionals I’ve known since I started out in wedding planning (and a few from before that!)

Max Hansen – Max Hansen Caterer

Joyce and Jessica Heisen – Casual Candids Photography

Mark Bryan – Mark Bryan Design / Hairy Mary’s

Ann Bartholomay- Annie B’s Confections

Congratulations to Rebecca and team for a job well done….

….more Maria + Casey

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

A little while back we shared some Fun and Inventive images of Maria and Casey’s wedding by photographer Sarah DiCicco…

We actually filled and entire blog with images of just the pre-ceremony photos, and the fun they had at Boyd’s Mens Store, Capogiro Gelato, and Continental Midtown…

So…. check out the rest of their AMAZING wedding

For Starters…..Maria and  Casey sat in with the jazz ensemble at the end of the cocktail reception… {to hear Maria sing and Casey on sax check out YouTube}

Tables were named for Maria and Casey’s favorite songs…

….and then Maria’s uncle filled the room with STUNNING Mokara orchids.

This was truly a wedding of family and personalization….

Introductions of the bride and groom for their first dace were done by Casey’s Grandmother…

Their wedding cake was a four tiered, scratch baked, ultra rich chocolate cake with toasted marshmallow frosting…a giant SMORE { which smelled heavenly!}

…and if that wasn’t decedent enough….

Desserts consisted of hand dipped Capogiro gelato, chocolate dipped strawberries, Maria’s grandmothers baklava… and wedding favors of homemade toasted coconut marshmallows made by Maria’s mother…

I can’t remember a wedding that reflected a couple so well

Needless to say…an AMAZING time was had by all…

I’m guessing most of you don’t speak fluent Korean…..so allow me to translate.

 congratulations!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and congratulations on Korean cuisine stepping up and taking it’s place among the trendy foods….

First catering trends brought Thai food to the forefront – sate, peanut sauce and infusions with lemongrass, ginger, fish sauce and herbs…

Then came samplings of Peruvian, Chifa (Peruvian – Chinese) and Nuevo Latino fusion….

Korean looks to be the next cool, trend food heading for the wedding scene…

Melt in your mouth, braised short ribs with Korean BBQ sauce is starting to pop up on main stream menus… as will buckwheat noodle dishes associated with longevity in marriage.

I’m sure the next cocktail station will be making Jeon – savory pancakes made from various ingredients – chopped kimchi [pickled vegetables- generally associated with the spicy cabbage version] or seafood, mixed into a wheat flour-based batter, and then pan fried. Served dipped in a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper powder.

As a fan of Korean food…I’m rally excited to see some new innovative foods coming to wedding menus.
