Hey BUCKS COUNTY!

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Check out the January issue of Nouveau Magazine…

Rebeca’s clients Andrea and Keith have their wedding featured in bridal issue!

Having grown up and started The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants in Bucks County right down the road from Andrea’s parent’s home… this wedding being published is really a treat for me.

Paired with the fact that Andrea found us because she was a guest at a wedding we did nearly five years ago… and still tracked us down!

And because the wedding featured a several Bucks county wedding professionals I’ve known since I started out in wedding planning (and a few from before that!)

Max Hansen – Max Hansen Caterer

Joyce and Jessica Heisen – Casual Candids Photography

Mark Bryan – Mark Bryan Design / Hairy Mary’s

Ann Bartholomay- Annie B’s Confections

Congratulations to Rebecca and team for a job well done….

Rebecca Druckenmiller -

Andrea and Keith’s wedding was held on a gorgeous Saturday in September at her home in New Hope. It was a perfect spot to hold the garden inspired wedding because they had incredible gardens all over the property.

Since it was held at the home, we coordinated with David Thomas Tours in making sure guests had transportation from the event to area hotels and parking.

The décor featured amazing florals by Mark Bryan from Hary Mary’s and fit in perfectly with the lush gardens that were next to the tent. Lanterns were used to light the deck in the back of the home that served as the space for cocktails along with tea lights hung from branches on the porch poles. The cocktail tables were also topped with eggplant centerpieces!

What was really great about having the tent next to the gardens in the yard was that we could open up the tent sides to allow guests to view the gardens, which also provided an amazing backdrop in the tent.

Getting Married in Pennsylvania

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

One of things I find tough as a Philadelphia wedding planner is being able to get reliable, current information on marriage licenses to our clients…

Especially since we plan weddings in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware..

Last week I had a great conversation with one of the representatives of the Register of Wills / Clerk of Orphans’ Court from Bucks County {Pennsylvania}

They are the people who process and issue marriage licenses in Bucks County…

One question is where people can apply for a marriage license- in Pennsylvania you may apply for a marriage license in any county courthouse across the Commonwealth and can then be married anywhere in the Commonwealth… even if you live in another state and are being married here.

There is no residency requirement –and the license is valid for 60 days

There is a three day waiting period from the date of application to the date of issue…(there are emergency or extraordinary situations where the clerk can petition the court to grant a waiver of the three day waiting period..)

In situations of active duty military on short leave – there is no fee for the waiver…

You will need to provide your social security number and valid ID (current photo driver’s license or passport)…

If you have been previously married you will need a copy of your divorce or annulment decree.

The fees are payable in CASH, or Money Order- Personal Checks are not accepted…

One major surprise to me is people who tell me the fees were raised from $50 to $80…not actually the case…

The application is still $50.00 – the automated computer fee is $10 – and the certified copy of marriage license is $20…

Many people thought they could apply for the license and pay the computer fee-without getting the certified copy of their license…

I found out that you can not apply to social security to change you name without the certified copy…

One last tip… Orphans Court in Doylestown is open late (until 7:30 PM) on the first and third Wednesday of the month..
